FAB 9: International Conference on Neuroscience, ELT and Education was a huge success. Participants from Japan, Indonesia, South Korea, Macau, United Kingdom, USA, Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines gathered in the beautiful beach town of Cordova, Cebu to attend the 9th FAB Conference last August 26 – 28 2016.
The participants were welcomed by the mayor of Cordova, Hon. Mayor Teche Sitoy-Cho. FAB founders Curtis Kelly, Marc Helgesen, Robert Murphy with Professor Kevin Maher from University of Macau were the plenary speakers for the event. The plenary speakers delivered compelling presentations that were highly appreciated by the participants. The delegates were kept energized by collaborative games and energy breaks lead by Yuka Masda and Steve Jugovic from Hiroshima Shudo University and Biwako Seikei Sport College respectively. The participants were given options to explore their particular interests through concurrent research presentations and book talks. GEO VP for Operations, Pearl Ilustre, and Prof. Mark Panugaling of University of San Jose Recoletos hosted the program for three-day conference.
Participants left Cebu with a strong sense of connection with their fellow delegates as well as greater appreciation and understanding of Mind, Brain , and Education (MBE) Science and NeuroELT. MBE is a new movement and philosophy in education that combines the concepts and practices in psychology, neuroscience, and education. NeuroELT, as an offshot of MBE, deals with the convergence of neuroscience and English language teaching.
The Global Educators’ Organization and FAB NeuroELT would like to thank guests, presenters, and participants of FAB 9. The organizers would like to send special thanks to the event sponsors: Cordova Local Government Unit, University of San Jose Recoletos and International TESOL Education and Consultancy Corporation.
